Dr. Anne Simon

Audiologist

Our team is led by Anne Simon, AuD – the only independent audiologist in the Lewis Clark Valley. Dr. Simon has earned her doctorate and master’s degrees in audiology, specializing in the study of diseases, anatomy and functions of the hearing system. Spending 16 years caring for patients in a highly demanding clinical environment (UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA) gave Dr. Simon the knowledge and experience needed to lead her team at Simon Audiology & Tinnitus.

Dr. Simon is always focused on helping patients achieve their hearing goals, which usually revolve around improving relationships and interactions with others. Certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association and a fellow of the American Academy of Audiology, Dr. Simon is uniquely equipped to help her patients navigate their journey to better hearing health.

Before she earned her doctorate in audiology, Anne was a rowing coxswain. World class! We’re not kidding. She competed for a spot on the 1995 U.S. National Rowing Team. When she’s not helping people hear, she enjoys clothes shopping with her daughter while Jeff naps in a nearby chair. Just kidding. Anne and her daughter would rather click their heels and open their closets to find their new perfectly-fitted clothes already hanging and ready to wear.

Mayra Rodriguez-Mallon

Audiology Assistant

We want your hearing aids to continue to work smoothly. Mayra is our point person on maintenance and care. She also trains patients on use and care. Born in Orofino, Mayra wins the door prize for our closest born team member (Wait, there’s a door prize?!). She’s smart, resourceful, and clever. Remember when VCRs first came out and nobody knew how to program the clock so it didn’t give you the blinking 12:00? Mayra’s the type who would have first noticed the blinking 12:00 should have the correct time. She would have been the first person in the neighborhood to figure out how to program the correct time. And she’s also so thoughtful, she would have knocked on every door in the neighborhood to offer her help.

Of course, given her youth, she’s actually never seen a VCR. She also doesn’t get any of our staff’s pop culture references from the 1970s through 1990s. But, that’s more of a commentary about how old the rest of the staff is. Outside of work, Mayra enjoys life with her husband and family. She has a chihuahua, Timber. (A chihuahua named Timber? The jokes almost write themselves. But as a self-described “crazy dog-mom,” we thought it best to pass.)

Jeff Simon

General Manager

Partners in work and partners in life, Jeff is the other smiling Simon you’ll meet when you come to our office. Jeff has worked alongside Anne as the General Manager of Simon Audiology & Tinnitus since opening. Jeff sets the vision for how we aim to make a meaningful difference in this community. Which is so much easier with Anne and Mayra’s excellence.

In addition to our visionary, he is part CEO, part philosopher, part story-teller, part counselor and confidant. When you first call our office to schedule, Jeff is the voice on the other end of the phone invested in learning about your specific situation. He waxes from folksy to profound. “Monday is one of my seven favorite days of the week.” “If it’s weird, it’s important.” and “Father-Mother-Child is the molecular core of all human beauty, virtue, and achievement.” are three of his more common shared musings.

Together, Jeff, Anne & Mayra make up a dynamic and effective team, committed to providing the community with the best hearing care possible.

“It has been a very pleasurable experience with my time. It is worth the financial expense. And I really enjoy you and your husband. You do a wonderful job.”
